The UNF women’s tennis team hosted the University of Central Florida women’s tennis team at the UNF Tennis Complex on Feb. 18.  Although they lost the doubles point, UNF (3-2) was able to come back and win four points in singles pushing the final score to 4-3.

The UCF Knights (4-3) played hard in doubles, and were able to capture the first point. UNF Head Coach Audra Cohen said the Ospreys then began to play more aggressively in the singles matches. All four matches were closely played, each going to three sets.

Quetzali Vazquez, Esther Zuniga and Marina Cunningham were all able to capture a point for UNF during their matches while Michelle Valdez grabbed the last point for the Ospreys. UCF came back and snagged the last two points of the singles matches, but the effort was not enough to take home the win.

The Ospreys will travel to Statesboro, Ga. on Feb. 28 to take on the Georgia Southern University Eagles.
