UPDATE – 11/13/15 at 3:15 p.m.

UNF rugby (2-1) scheduled an exhibition match against the Daytona Men’s Rugby Club for this Saturday, Nov 14.

Following the news that Ave Maria University’s rugby team forfeited their conference match against UNF, sophomore fullback and team match secretary Keith Messer confirmed that the team found a replacement opponent in Daytona.

The rugby team will face off against the Daytona men’s club at 10 a.m. on Nov 14. Barring any last minute changes, the match will take place on the intramural fields at UNF. Spinnaker will update if the match location is moved.

Ave Maria University rugby forfeited their rugby match against UNF that was scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 14.

UNF rugby club officials received an email from Ave Maria rugby representatives on Nov. 11, which stated that due to an insufficient number of players on their roster they were forced to forfeit their match at UNF.

The UNF rugby club (1-1) were hoping to gain back momentum after suffering a 17-9 upset at Eckerd College on Oct. 24. The Deadbirds will have to wait until Nov. 21 for their next match on the road against Florida Gulf Coast University. That match will be their last for the fall semester, continuing with spring play on Jan. 30.
