The UNF volleyball team (21-11 overall, 7-7 A-Sun) lost 3-1 to Jacksonville University (12-15 overall, 8-6 A-Sun) in the first round of the Atlantic Sun tournament on Nov 19. JU broke a 1-1 tie in the River City Rumble rivalry for the season against UNF.

UNF started off strong, clinching the first set 25-17. That was the last set the Ospreys would win as the Dolphins swept the last three 25-18, 25-21, and 25-19.

JU senior Emily Laskelle led the match with 19 kills and the Dolphin front line earned 10 blocks. Junior Carina Hoff led the Ospreys with 17 blocks.

UNF did come home with some accolades despite the loss. Hoff was named to the All-Atlantic Sun first-team and junior Kimberly Ferguson was selected to the Atlantic Sun Academic All-Conference Team.

Jacksonville moves on to face the 1-seed Lipscomb Bisons in the semi-final round of the Atlantic Sun Conference tournament. The Ospreys will resume competition in March for the beach volleyball season.
