Despite the looming threat of rain on Nov. 19, students gathered at the Student Union for the UNF International Center’s World Fest event to enjoy food, music and activities from different cultures around the world.

Jennifer Dillard, mechanical engineering junior, was excited to have the opportunity to experience the different cultures that are represented on campus.

“I’ve never seen something so united,” Dillard said.

The different activities were operated by students from the English learning program and members of the community. This year the program had students from 23 countries that represented 11 different languages.

“When we do this, it’s awesome because it makes them feel like part of the university, and it’s good for them to mingle with regular American students” Michelle Artiga, program assistant of the English learning program said.

World fest is hosted annually and allows students that came to UNF to improve their English to be a part of campus life.
