If you saw fire and rescue trucks on campus this morning, here’s why:

Around 10 a.m., there was an accident in Lot 18 near the north entrance, where you come into the lot from Beach Boulevard.

According to UNFPD, a driver turned out too wide and hit another car, removing the front bumper of one of the vehicles.

One driver was transported to UF Health as a precaution and the investigation is continuing.

UNFPD was on the scene writing a report and helping to move the vehicles out of the lanes near that side entrance.

They assured us this would not cause any additional traffic for students who park in Lot 18.
