Candle light vigil held for Chapel Hill victims at UNF Peace Plaza

Candle light vigil held for Chapel Hill victims at UNF Peace Plaza

On Thursday Feb. 12, the UNF Interfaith Center hosted a candlelight vigil to mourn the deaths of three Muslim students who were murdered near the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill on Tuesday, Feb 10.

Those who attended were given small candles and huddled in a semicircle at UNF’s Peace Plaza under the statue of Gandhi.

A few of those present felt moved enough to speak, expressing feelings of longing and hope for a world without violence. Representatives from the Interfaith Center, Better Together at UNF, and UNF Muslim Student Association spoke at the vigil.

Sharing a common vision by the end of evening, supporters joined together for one final reflection for the three victims and their families.
