UNF President John Delaney issued a statement Tuesday afternoon about missing UNF student George Louissaint Jr.

“The UNF community is hopeful that the missing UNF student will be found soon…We appreciate everyone who is sharing his photo on social media in the hopes that someone will recognize him and share important information with the police.”

Delaney went on to thank JSO and UNFPD for their work on this “intensive search.”

“Everyone just wants to bring George home safe,” Delaney said. “Please keep this young man in your thoughts and prayers.”

Officers have been searching the wooded area all day for any sign of the 20-year-old Louissaint. UNF Police Chief Frank Mackesy is holding a press conference at 5 p.m. Tuesday to update the public on the search. Spinnaker will continue to update this story as more information becomes available.
