University of North Florida President John Delaney will not be running for U.S. Congress.

Delaney initially expressed interest in the U.S. Representative seat after current Rep. Ander Crenshaw announced Wednesday he will not be running for re-election. Delaney received over 190 calls of support but after conversations with his wife, decided against a congressional run.

In an Osprey Update, Delaney said he enjoys working with the faculty and students at UNF and looks forward to helping the university continue its accomplishments.

Spinnaker reached out to Delaney’s office but he was unavailable for comment.
