Don’t let the Ghouls get you down

Don%E2%80%99t+let+the+Ghouls+get+you+down

Ghouls shriek and wolves howl through the night, as super heroes, game characters and anything imaginable roams the streets.

This can only mean one thing – Halloween is upon us.

Halloween is the time of the year where most can get away with wearing even the most questionable, outlandish costumes. This can range anywhere from skimpy superhero costumes to racial innuendos, or childhood fantasies.

Most out to celebrate Halloween are just trying to have a good time, but even still, some costumes have the potential to scare or upset others.

The University of Florida, has made it known that if there are costumes or outfits that offend/disturb their students this holiday, they have staff readily available to consult and help deal with those fears.

Andrew King, the Director of the Counseling center here at the University of North Florida, says there isn’t anything in particular planned for the holiday. King reminded us students have 24-7 access to a professional therapist through the counseling center.

“Although we did not specifically advertise it as being associated with Halloween, students may access counseling support on a walk-in basis whenever we are open (Monday-Friday 8-5). After that students can call our number, 904-620-2602, wait for the voice mail system to engage, select option two, and be connected to a live licensed therapist.”

If a creepy clown suit preys on your phobias or  [insert occupation here] costume is disrupting you too much, know that UNF’s Counseling center has your back.
