Hurricane Matthew shifts west toward Florida coast; Classes still not cancelled

The latest track of Hurricane Matthew shows the category-4 storm shifting west, towards Jacksonville.

Governor Rick Scott has already advised the state to start evacuating, however, classes are currently continuing as scheduled.

Matthew has been classified as a major hurricane with wind speeds greater than 110 MPH. A Hurricane Watch has been issued by the National Hurricane Center from the Volusia Brevard county line to Deerfield Beach.

The storm is expected to hit Cuba and the Bahamas before heading up the east-Florida coastline. Matthew is currently moving north at 10 mph with wind gusts of up to 145 MPH, according to the National Hurricane Center.
