Four North Florida men’s basketball players earned ASUN accolades for their stellar performances on and off the court this season.
Dallas Moore was named the ASUN Player of the Year for the second season in a row. Moore, who was a unanimous pick, averaged a team-high 24 points. The ASUN’s biggest star also had 10 games with 30 points this season alone.
Moore has now scored the most points in Division One history in the state of Florida with 2,437. Moore also broke the 35-year-old ASUN single season scoring record with 775 points and counting during his final season.The star guard is UNF’s best chance of seeing an Osprey play at the NBA level as multiple pro teams have come to the nest to watch Moore play this season.
Al-Wajid Aminu was named the ASUN Freshman of the Year. The forward was pivotal for the Ospreys, averaging nine points and over six rebounds per game, second on the team and first among all freshmen. The defensive force broke the school record for the most blocks with 36. He was also named to the ASUN All-Freshmen team.
Aaron Bodager was the only Osprey named to the All-Academic team. The fifth year senior health science major has maintained a 3.61 GPA. This is the third year that Bodager has earned a spot on this squad.
Garrett Sams also made the ASUN All-Freshmen team this season. Sams, who averages over 10 points a game, came in second for Freshman of the Year votes. Aminu and Sams make up UNF’s first ASUN All-Freshmen duo.
