The UNF nature trails are reopened after temporarily being closed due to Hurricane Matthew’s damage. Last week, the open zip lining was canceled because of tree damage.

A smaller area that includes the beachfront to the picnic trail is still closed because of a leaning tree.

To get to the picnic area, students can use the sidewalk along UNF Drive then go through the rope course, according to Becky Purser, director of recreation. There is a detour sign as well on the trail.

The challenge course has been deemed safe for the public.
