Logo-policebeat5April 27 Injured Person (Osprey Hall) – A UPD officer responded to an injury behind Building Z of the Osprey Hall. Upon arriving, the officer noticed a man being treated by Jacksonville Fire and Rescue paramedics. The man tripped on a raised piece of sidewalk and hit his head. His headwas covered with gauze, and he was responsive to the officer. The man was transported to St. Luke’s hospital.

April 27 Injured Person (Building 12) – A UPD officer responded to an injury outside Building 12. Upon arriving, the officer noticed a man lying on the floor of the Starbucks coffee shop. A witness said she observed the man sitting at a desk before slumping over and falling out of his chair. While the man was alert and coherent, he had a laceration under his left eye. The man was also experiencing swelling on his forehead. He also could not recall the fall. Jacksonville Fire and Rescue arrived and transported him to St. Vincent’s Hospital.

April 27 Injured Person (Lot 18) – A UPD officer responded to an injury in the skate park next to Lot 18. Upon arriving, the officer noticed a boy lying in the grass next to the park, with his parents treating him. Jacksonville Fire and Rescue paramedics arrived on the scene. The boy, who was 11 years old, was transported to St. Luke’s Hospital.

April 28 Stolen Property (Building 61) – A UPD officer met with a student outside the Student Wellness Complex in response to a theft. The student said he locked his bicycle outside the gym on Friday, April 19. The student returned to retrieve the bicycle over a week later. Upon returning, the student noticed both his bicycle and lock were stolen. The student was unable to provide the officer with a serial number for the bike, but he said he would attempt to locate the information.

May 1 Stolen Property (Osprey Fountains) – A UPD officer met with a student in response to stolen property. He said he locked up his bike outside the Fountains at 10:00 p. m. on Wednesday, May 1. He said he was visiting a friend at the Fountains, where he left his bike until returning Friday, May 3. He said he returned around 12:30 p. m. and noticed his bike was missing. He said his bike lock was also missing. The student contacted UPD Lost and Found, but they had no records of the bicycle. The student was unable to provide any information about the suspect, and the officer was not able to discover any investigative leads.

May 3 Injured Person (Building 46) – A UPD officer responded to an injured person outside Hodges Stadium. Another UPD officer was already working at a track meet being held behind the stadium. The injured person was a track participant who fell. She dragged herself off the track and into the grass, complaining of pain in her right lower side. After being evaluated by paramedics on site, she was transported to Wolfson Children’s Hospital. Her mother was attending the meet and followed the ambulance to the hospital
