Simone Brown soars during Ospreys loss

Even with Simone Brown scoring a game-high 22 points, her efforts were not enough to elevate North Florida (6-6) over Bethune Cookman University (3-6). North Florida lost the road game in the final seconds with a score of 50-52.

The game was tight as both teams fought for dominance. There were seven lead changes and the game was tied three times.

No other Osprey had double digits in scoring with the second leading scorer only having five points. Low scoring really wounded the Ospreys.

Foul trouble also plagued UNF with three Ospreys having three fouls. But the Ospreys did improve the amount of turnover. They went from 25 last game to 14.

With :27 seconds left in the fourth, Brown tied the game at 50 with a lay-up. BCU answered with a lay-up of their own at :04 seconds. Time simply ran out on the Ospreys, as they lost the game to the Wildcats by a basket.

Next North Florida will face Florida State in Tallahassee on Dec. 19 with tip-off at 6 p.m.
