The following information is according to reports from the UNF Police Department.

On March 30, a disagreement occurred between three students over the belongings of a former student.

According to the potential victim, two students told her that the former student said she was leaving UNF and would not return for her belongings. The three students went through the former students clothing and took what they wanted.

The potential victim received a call from the former student a couple days later. The former student was angry that the potential victim took her clothing. The potential victim explained it was a miscommunication due to the two other students who said the former student did not want the clothing.

The former student went into one of the students’ rooms and found their clothing. The two students with the clothing then became angry with the potential victim for telling the former student they took her clothing.

The two students began to tweet vulgar comments about the potential victim. Due to the amount of comments, the potential victim became concerned for her safety when walking to and from class. She has two classes with one of the students and another class across the hall from the other student.

The potential victim was advised to contact her professors about her situation and see if they would offer an alternative solution. The potential victim was also advised to contact UNFPD if the behavior continued.

A few hours later, an officer was dispatched to the potential victim’s room about additional tweets from the students. A Resident Life Coordinator responded to the room as well, where additional options were discussed for the potential victim.

The investigation is ongoing. Spinnaker will update with more information as it becomes available.
