Water main broken and fixed

daily-news

A campus-wide message was sent out Oct. 1 at 3:30 p.m. to inform students that a water main broke next to Skinner Hall (building four) and the water would be off for several buildings. The email said there was no estimated time for restoring the water.

John Hale, Director of Physical Facilities, told the Spinnaker that as of approximately 3:30 p.m., the main was fixed and the water had been restored to the affected buildings.

Hale said water was discovered coming from the ground near Skinner Hall, and an investigation revealed an irrigation line broke at approximately 2:30 p.m. He said this is a permanent fix and classes will not be affected.

At 4:13 p.m., another campus-wide email was sent announcing the main was fixed and water restored.
