North Florida was unable to get the win over Wofford losing their first game of the Best Western UNF New Year Classic 60-79.

Three Ospreys had double-digit scoring games. Maiya Rumph had a team-high 14 points and all three of the team’s blocks.

Tesh Hanson had 11 points and grabbed a team-high seven rebounds.

Jaiveonna Norris also added 10 points of her own and chipped in five rebounds.

UNF lead in many stats including points in the paint, points off turnovers, fast break and bench points.

One of the biggest deciding factors of the game was three pointers. Wofford netted 10 threes during the game while UNF was only able to down one.  

With the edge Wofford edged the Ospreys and took the game 79-60.

The next day UNF bounced back against Warner and had a dominant performance, winning the game 72-44.

The Osprey’s bench really stepped up this game. North Florida’s bench combined for 30 points while Warner’s only scored 11.

Every North Florida player that saw minutes scored at least four points. Four Ospreys had double digits in scoring.  

Sierra Shepherd scored a team-high 14 points and had a game-high three steals.

Kristen Clements started her second game of her Osprey career and netted a career-high 12 points.

Reserves Adrienne Jackson and Hadley Kiefer chipped in 11 points each en route to the Osprey’s win.

North Florida ran away with the game 72-44 snapping their four game losing streak.
Next North Florida will face their cross-town rival, Jacksonville University, to start conference play on Jan. 7. Tip off is at 1 p.m. in the Swisher Gym.
