Congested traffic and crying parents can only point to one thing: move in week.

Friday incoming freshman got a taste of the University life as they lugged their mini-fridges and boxes into their new homes here on campus.

Upperclassmen moved in on Saturday carrying many of the same items, perhaps more adeptly.

“Moving in was the easiest thing; it was a lot calmer than I thought,” said Emma Stockli, a Freshman Nursing major.

Many students, despite pouring rain and long car lines, had a smile on their face. Many were surprised moving in was a lot less of a task than they’d originally thought.

“Check-in actually went very smoothly.” Meghan Mulcahy, an undeclared freshman said. “The housing department was very efficient, and very helpful, even assisting with heavy boxes and furniture.”

Much like the other student’s both agreed that parking and traffic was the worst part about the day.

“Traffic was awful,” Stockli said. “It was the worst part about the whole thing. Even for a Saturday afternoon it was awful.”

Mulcahy had a similar statement about the traffic issue,” My check-in time was between nine and eleven. I showed up exactly at nine, the parking lot was already close to full, and traffic was very congested.”

Yesterday’s move in was the first day to kick off Week of Wow. Staff in turquoise shirts could be overheard telling students how to get involved on campus.

“I’m really excited to do more activities on campus though,” Stockli said. “I think that’s the most exciting part about moving in.”

Members of Osprey Productions walked around encouraging students to attend events.

“The best part of moving in was that I could now officially call myself an Osprey,” Mulcahy said. “I know college is going to be a fantastic journey.”
