News in brief – Oct. 8

Housing increase approved
The UNF Board of Trustees decided to pass the proposed 2009-2010 housing rates at the Board of Trustees meeting Oct. 2. These rates showed a 6.02 percent average increase from the 2008-2009 rates.

Former Ambassador discusses women in politics
Former U.N. Ambassador Nancy Soderberg, distinguished visiting scholar in the Department of Political Science and Public Administration, discussed how female politicians like Hillary Clinton and Sarah Palin have changed American politics on “Ask the UNF Expert,” which aired Oct. 7 on WJXT Channel 4.

Lt. Governor  visits UNF
Lt. Gov. Jeff Kottkamp spoke Oct. 7 to the College Republicans rallying around the McCain-Palin campaign.

Get your flu shot here
Student Health Services is offering students and faculty flu-shots from noon to 3 p.m. Oct. 9. Shots will also be offered from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Oct. 14 and Oct. 22. Shots are $20 for students and $25 for faculty
