Osprey CareerLink is the current website that UNF’s Career Management Center uses to help students find jobs and internships; however, that will soon change. The new career system, Handshake, will be replacing Osprey CareerLink for students on June 5.

The biggest difference between the two, according to the press release, is that Handshake has twice the number of employment opportunities, easier for employers to keep track of recruiting efforts, stronger dashboard and a compliant mobile interface.

According to Assistant Director Melinda Santos, universities that switched to Handshake have double and even triple student interaction.

“Problems with Career Link were it was not user-friendly and not as mobile user friendly,” Santos said. “Students wanted more opportunities.” 

UNF’s Career Management Center went through an 18-month assessment process involving students, employers, staff members and those who partner with the university. Over 500 universities have transferred over to this system including Florida State University, University of Central Florida and the University of South Florida.

Before making this transfer students that have material on Osprey Career Link should download the material such as cover letters, resumes, and unofficial transcripts. The system will not be able to transfer previous documents from the Osprey CareerLink to Handshake. After downloading your information, students should keep an eye on their email in June for an invitation to the new platform.
