Nancy Soderberg wins democratic nominee for Florida’s 6th District

UNF Director of Public Service Leadership Nancy Soderberg takes home the polls after winning the Democratic nominee for Congress in Florida’s 6th district.

In July of 2017, Soderberg announced her campaign for Congress in Florida’s 6th district, which covers Southern Jacksonville.

Soderberg has ties to UNF that date back to 2006 when she first started teaching political science. Among being the Director of Public Service at UNF, she is also a Distinguished Visiting Scholar, and the President and CEO of Soderberg Global Solutions, an international consulting firm.

Soderberg’s priorities for Congress are passing legislation to prevent student debt and making college more affordable.

If Soderberg becomes a congresswoman, she will be in charge of proposing bills, studying bill’s effects and costs, and proposing amendments.

Soderberg received a total of 31,774 votes and will be facing Michael Waltz in the general election.
