Add this to your calendar: tax-free holiday

Gear up on your back-to-school necessities, Ospreys! Florida’s Sales Tax Holiday, otherwise known as the “tax-free holiday,” begins next Friday, August 2.

This is the perfect time to stock up on back-to-school clothes, footwear and accessories– as long as the individual items are under $60. For school supplies, you’ll want to grab those items that are $15 or less. If you’re looking at buying a new computer, those have been added back on the list of tax-exempt items– but only if that snazzy new laptop you’re eyeing is under $1000. Luckily, this year’s tax-free holiday also exempts headphones/earbuds, printers and ink, as well as many other computer related accessories, so you can get the technology you need and save while you’re at it.

If you’re unsure what is exempt and what isn’t, read here.

The tax-free holiday will run from Friday, August 2 to Tuesday, August 6, meaning you have a full 5 days to grab everything you need to be successful this school year.
