Week one of college football season is this weekend and the Florida State-Boise State matchup in Jacksonville could possibly be affected by Hurricane Dorian.

Cecilia Manazec of the Palm Beach Post reported that, “the National Hurricane Center expects Dorian to intensify to a Category 2 hurricane off Florida’s coast Monday, with 100 mph sustained winds.”

This projection has been updated to reflect that Dorian is anticipated to be a category 3 once it reaches Florida’s coast on Monday.

“We are monitoring weather projections for the potential storm, as are the officials in Jacksonville, at Boise State, and at ESPN and the ACC,” Florida State’s Athletic Director David Coburn said.

The game is currently set for Saturday, August 30 at 7 p.m. at TIAA Bank Field.

Florida State is coming off a 5-7 overall 2018-19 season and James Blackman is slated to be the starting quarterback this year after backing up Deandre Francois in previous seasons.

Boise State had a strong 10-3 season last year and were led by Alexander Mattison in the backfield, rushing for 1,471 yards and scored 17 touchdowns.
