The University of North Florida has been selected as one of the Princeton Review’s “2016 Best Colleges” for the Southeastern region. This is the seventh consecutive year UNF has been selected for the list, which is limited to 140 regional colleges and universities.

UNF President John Delaney was “delighted” the school had once again received the award. “This prestigious recognition,” Delaney said, “Affirms the tremendous ongoing effort UNF has put forth to build one of the finest universities in the state.”

The Princeton Review uses several metrics to determine which schools make its annual list, which is split into four categories for the Northeastern, Southeastern, Midwestern and Western United States. They gather data in dozens of categories from average SAT scores and GPAs to a “selectivity score” that measures how hard it is to get into the school. UNF’s currently sits at 88.

The organization also sends out representatives to each school to interview administrators, counselors, advisors and most importantly, students. According to those interviewed about UNF, the school has “all the aspects of a huge state college with a much more laid back feel.” One student also praised professor accessibility, saying they’ve “never had a situation where a professor was unavailable.”
