After a busy weekend, a host of Ospreys collected ASUN awards for their performances at home and on the road.
Victoria Ekeli, senior goalkeeper for women’s soccer, was named the ASUN Defensive Player of the Week. During the team’s road trip, Ekeli only allowed one goal in a span of 180 minutes. Her presence in the net helped secure a 2-0 shutout over Presbyterian on Sunday.
Josh Castellanos, junior midfielder for men’s soccer, was named the ASUN Player of the Week. On Friday night, Castellanos scored two goals, including a game winner, to push the Ospreys over FIU. It was his second game-winning goal of the season
Morgan Van Alstine, senior middle blocker for volleyball, was also named ASUN Defensive Player of the Week. Over the weekend, volleyball won two games in the Best Western Osprey Invite. Van Alstine is the ASUN’s leader in blocks, with 13 in three matches. She also had 11 digs, including a season-high five over Mercer.
Eden Meyer earned the ASUN Runner of the Week for her second-place performance in the 3k in the UNF invitational. She posted a time of 10:23.93. Last season, Meyer won the event and finished with the top-team time in every meet.
