The University of North Florida will extend its Fourth of July holiday in recognition of the upcoming 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence, according to a campus-wide email from UNF Interim President Angela Garcia Falconnetti.
In addition to the scheduled holiday on Friday, July 3, classes will be canceled, and university offices will be closed on Monday, July 6. Professors will communicate any changes to class assignments or due dates, according to the email.
“We hope this extended break gives you extra time to rest, celebrate, and enjoy the festivities with friends and family,” said Falconetti in the email.
