Coaches around the ASUN voted the sophomore to this team after her superb play last season. The outside hitter was named the Freshman of the Week five times last season.

“It’s an honor to be a part of that selected few,” said O’Connell. “I’m really excited about this [season].”

During her first season as an Osprey, O’Connell was often a vital factor for the outcome of the game. She had 13 double-doubles and 24 games with double-digit kills.

Home play kicks off with a game against Savannah State on Aug. 30 at 7 p.m.
