Two staff members from the Spinnaker have qualified as award winners for the 68th Annual Green Eyeshade Awards, a competition that recognizes excellence in journalism.

Photo Editor Lili Weinstein won second place for Best Photographer in the South and former Sports Editor Joslyn Simmons won second place for Best Sports Writer in the South.

Simmons graduated with a degree in multimedia journalism this past spring semester.

The awards recognize the best college journalists in the Southeastern United States and include categories in print, digital media, radio and television.
