UNF adjunct professor, Jane Mickler, passes away

Jane Clifford Mickler, a journalism adjunct professor at UNF, passed away Thursday, June 14 at the age of 69. Mickler also taught at Flagler College in St. Augustine and was a former WJXT TV-4 anchor and reporter.

Mickler’s history included being a family editor at the San Diego Union-Tribune, teaching journalism at Point Loma Nazarene University in San Diego, and graduating from the University of Florida in 1979.

She met her husband, Randy Mickler, the producer and director of NBC San Diego, when she started out in television journalism at WJXT. Randy Mickler died Dec. 20, 2009.

One of the classes Mickler taught at UNF was Magazine Feature Writing. She stopped teaching after the fall 2017 semester.

Services for Mickler will be on Monday, June 18 at 9 a.m. at the Cathedral Basilica of St. Augustine at 38, Cathedral Place, St. Augustine.
