UNF Crisis Management warns students to stay safe in inclement weather

The university sent out an alert on April 19, warning students and faculty that the National Weather Service has issued several weather warnings for Duval County.

A severe thunderstorm warning is in effect until 1:15 p.m. with a tornado watch in effect until 4 p.m. According to the alert, the predicted weather can carry the possibility of severe thunderstorms, damaging winds, heavy rain and tornadoes.

The university is asking students, faculty and staff to proceed with caution when driving to and from campus. According to the alert, UNF’s Crisis Management Team is monitoring the situation and will send updates to students, faculty and staff as the situation develops.
