Raymond Bunch, UNF Surf Club Advisor, was disappointed with the loss but mentioned how much heart the team had in the tournament.

“Second place again, it’s hard not to be disappointed. However, we should be very proud of them. They surfed their hearts out and my job now is to try and convince them of that,” Bunch said.

Hunter Roland and Charlie Current took second and fourth in the men’s shortboard final.

Jon Jon Kaidy rounded out the men with a third place finish in the longboard final.

In the women’s final, Avery Aydolette was UNF’s lone qualifier.

This now puts a chip on the UNF Surf team’s shoulder to make it back to Nationals and take first.
