Spinnaker racks up awards at SPJ

The Society of Professional Journalists chapter in Florida honored all college journalists in the state for their best work. Three former Spinnaker employees were awarded for their most prized stories in 2018.

UNF Spinnaker won four Florida SPJ awards

Senior Hannah Lee was a former Editor-in-Chief for UNF Spinnaker and won third place for Best News Story (Biology professor under investigation for alleged sexual harassment of a student) and was named College Journalist of the Year in the state of Florida.

 

Stephen Thompson was an intern for Spinnaker in Fall 2018 and won Best Sports Story (UNF alumna spotlight: Tesh Hanson).

 

Former Features Editor Andy Moser won Best Review (‘Fifty Shades Freed’: more pain than pleasure).

 

With Lee and Moser graduating, the new Editor-in-Chief of Spinnaker is Senior Lianna Norman and the new Features Editor is Sophomore Breanna Cataldo.
