A path forward: OCD Jacksonville seminar at UNF

Courtney Green, News Editor

Do you or someone you love suffer from Obsessive Compulsive Disorder?

OCD Jacksonville and Chi Sigma Iota’s Sigma Phi Epsilon (UNF) Chapter will be bringing a free seminar on OCD to UNF on Sept. 8, 2019. The seminar, titled “A Family Affair: How to Effectively Support Your Loved One with OCD,” will be geared toward the family’s role in the disorder and how those living with someone suffering from OCD can support their loved one.

The seminar will be given by Dr. Jonathan Abramowitz, who is an internationally recognized expert on OCD and author of several studies related to OCD and cognitive-behavioral therapy.

The seminar will be held at UNF’s Student Union from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. While the event is free, reservations are strongly encouraged. For event information and how to register, click here.

Student mental health is a top priority among leadership at UNF. If you or a loved one suffer from OCD, you might want to look into the UNF Counseling Center for help. On their website, the Counseling Center promotes an app called “nOCD,” which is designed to be used along with a therapist’s help. This, coupled with informative sessions like those given by Dr. Abramowitz, may alleviate some of the stress of living with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder.
