The UNF Women’s Soccer team defeated the Catamounts in a 3-1 win propelled by three first-half goals.

Vanessa Piermont struck first for the Ospreys with a goal in the 15th minute assisted by Thais Reiss.

“We deserve to win. We’re a great team, we worked really hard this summer so we just came out here saying ‘Let’s prove it to the fans with a win,’”Knight said when speaking about breaking the team’s losing streak.

The Ospreys did not take long to strike again. Carmel Oliveira scored in the 30th minute to stretch the Ospreys lead to 3-0.

WCU answered with a goal of their own in the 58th minute with a rebound goal by Payton Creed, cutting the deficit to 3-1, Ospreys.

The win improves UNF to 5-3-1 and the loss drops WCU to 6-3-0.
