Dallas Moore, the men's basketball team's sophomore starting guard, leads the Ospreys with a shooting percentage of 49 percent and 395 points thus far.
The women's basketball team was defeated at the hands of the Spartans with a close score of 50-59. The Ospreys play the Kennesaw State Owls Saturday, Feb. 14, at the home court, the UNF Arena.
Despite notable performances from Chris Davenport and Beau Beech, UNF falls short to the University of South Carolina Upstate Spartans with a final score of 63-80.
In front of a crowd of 1,805, the Ospreys did not disappoint with a total of six blocks between Romelo Banks, Nesbitt, Beech and Daniels. In the end, the Ospreys won the home game against Kennesaw State 86-67 on Jan. 29.
Even though the Ospreys came into the game strong, going up by four points before half time, the Kennesaw State Owls overtook the Ospreys and won 40-46.
On the road at the Allen Arena in Nashville, Tn. the UNF men's basketball team (13-9) overcame a 19-29 halftime deficit against the Bisons (10-10) with a 56 point answer in the second half.
Early in the first half the Ospreys pulled ahead to a 17-10 score, but the Lipscomb University Bisons regained the lead and won with a final score of 62-71.
In their fourth conference game of the season, the UNF women's basketball team beat the Northern Kentucky Norse with a final score of 81-79 on Jan. 22.
