The UNF women's basketball team's 32-point loss to Stetson Saturday afternoon in the regular season finale summed up the year for the Ospreys. Stetson (22-6, 11-3) beat UNF (11-18, 2-12) at the Edmunds Center in DeLand, Fla. by a final score of 77-45.
The Ospreys (11-17, 2-11) put up a total of 24 points against the Florida Gulf Coast University Eagles (26-2, 13-0), who are currently ranked No. 21 in the nation.
In front of an energizing home crowd, the UNF men's basketball team (17-11, 9-2) struggled in the first half but rebounded in the second half, gaining a 93-78 victory over Lipscomb University.
In front of a crowd of 1,805, the Ospreys did not disappoint with a total of six blocks between Romelo Banks, Nesbitt, Beech and Daniels. In the end, the Ospreys won the home game against Kennesaw State 86-67 on Jan. 29.
Even though the Ospreys came into the game strong, going up by four points before half time, the Kennesaw State Owls overtook the Ospreys and won 40-46.
On the road at the Allen Arena in Nashville, Tn. the UNF men's basketball team (13-9) overcame a 19-29 halftime deficit against the Bisons (10-10) with a 56 point answer in the second half.
Early in the first half the Ospreys pulled ahead to a 17-10 score, but the Lipscomb University Bisons regained the lead and won with a final score of 62-71.
