By: Jordan Harirchi, Assistant Sports Editor

Freshman softball player Kaylie Wallace won her second Atlantic Sun Pitcher of the Week award.
In her award-winning week, Wallace posted a 0.91 ERA, had two shutouts and 18 strikeouts in 23 innings of work, earning wins against conference foes Stetson University (17-12, 2-2 A-Sun) and Lipscomb University (22-10, 2-2 A-Sun) in five appearances. She allowed just three earned runs on the week.
Wallace pitched seven innings against the Hatters March 26, allowing two hits and striking out eight batters. Against the Bison March 30, Wallace pitched seven innings, allowing only three hits and striking out four. The victory put an end to a seven-game losing streak against the Bison.
Wallace also pitched two innings of relief against the University of Central Florida Knights (26-10) March 28 and almost three innings of relief in the second game against the Bison March 30. In those relief innings, she racked up three strikeouts and allowed two hits.
In her final appearance of the week, Wallace pitched four and a third innings against the Belmont Bruins (6-24, 1-3 A-Sun). She racked up three strikeouts and allowed four runs — three of them earned — leading to a no-decision against the Bruins.
Wallace has been a big part of the Ospreys’ success this year, posting a 12-3 record in 24 appearances. The Ospreys’ record is currently 22-15, 4-2 in conference play.
Wallace’s 12 victories are in a multi-player tie at No. 56 in Division I, and her 1.19 ERA on the season is No. 22 in Division I, according to the NCAA. Wallace has posted 90 strikeouts in 105 and two thirds innings pitched.
The Ospreys next action is against the Kennesaw State University Owls (19-17, 4-2 A-Sun) April 6.
