Golf tied for 9th on first day of Nationals

After one round of golf at the NCAA National Championship, No. 14 seed UNF sits tied for 9th place.

Tuesday was a day when the best became the worst and the worst became the best for the Ospreys.

No. 5 golfer Taylor Hancock shot a first round 69 (-1), a season best for the red-shirt freshman.

No. 1 golfer Kevin Phelan carded a first round, and team worst, 75 (+5).

Overall the UNF men’s golf team posted a one-over-par 281 in opening round play of the 2013 NCAA Championship at Capital City Club – Crabapple Course in Atlanta.
