Underage drinking in the Village

A UNFPD officer dispatched to the Village April 13 entered a suspect’s room to see another suspect, a minor, pouring alcohol down the drain.

The first suspect, 21, had given the officer permission to enter. The two minors told the officer they had bought the alcohol at Publix – they gave the first suspect $20 to buy beer for them.

According to UPFPD’s reports, another student said the suspect had several parties in his room that week.

The suspect was issued a notice to appear for contributing to a minor.

The minors were issued a notice to appear for possession of alcohol under the age of 21.

Car search yields marijuana

Students in a blacked out VW Jetta were found with .3 grams of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

On April 11 an officer conducted a traffic stop after noticing the Jetta failed to come to a complete stop. When he made contact with the driver of the vehicle he could smell marijuana and smoke coming out of the car.

The officer called for backup.

The officer who arrived also smelled marijuana and asked the driver as well as suspect 1 and 2 to exit the car.

The officer searched the vehicle and found a small bag of marijuana, a pipe and grinder.

Suspect 1 said the bag of marijuana containing .3 grams and pipe were his. Suspect 2 said the grinder was his.

Suspect 1 was issued a notice to appear for possession of less than 20 grams of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

Suspect 2 was issued a notice to appear for possession of drug paraphernalia.

Bicycle stolen…again

A student had their bicycle stolen outside of the Osprey Landing.

The student said they locked up their bicycle and went on with their day. When they went to get their bicycle the next morning, it was gone.

UNFPD was unable to find any bicycles matching the description in the area.
