Belly-dancing class opens for students
Starting Oct. 15, belly-dancing classes will be offered in Building 43 for $69. The course is meant to help students build coordination, strength, flexibility and grace. Participants will be given the opportunity to learn proper stance and posture. Prior dance experience is not required. From more information, call the Division of Continuing Education at 904-620-4200.

Library launches zombie exhibit
Throughout the month of October, zombies will be in the Library. The display, located on the first floor in the case near Special Collections, features examples of how the undead are depicted in literature and film. It will be up through Oct. 31.

UNF students, alumnus receive Achieving the Dream scholarships
Several UNF students and one graduate received $2,000 each for the 2010 Achieving the Dream scholarship, a joint venture of the Mayor’s Hispanic American Advisory Board and the First Coast Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. The groups have awarded college scholarships to First Coast students of Hispanic decent for more than 13 years to help address the increasing challenge for Hispanic students to pay for and stay in college. Advisory board scholarship recipients include Maria Pena, Jose Restrepo, Cassandra Santiago and UNF alumnus Michael Gropper. Chamber of commerce winners include Oscar Ortiz, Gianinna Cooper and graduate student Diego Molina.
