The Lipscomb Bisons (8-8 overall, 2-2 ASUN) swept North Florida volleyball (7-12 overall,0-4 ASUN) for their fourth-straight ASUN conference defeat on Oct. 6 at the UNF Arena.

UNF is currently last in the ASUN conference standing with the lost.

The Bisons out played the Ospreys in all fields except blocks. North Florida had 6 blocks while Lipscomb had four.

Bisons’ freshman Carlyle Nusbaum devoured the Ospreys in kills grabbing 21 of Lipscomb’s 49 kills. Ospreys’ freshman middle blocker Devyn Wheeler scored ten of her points off of kills during the three sets.

Despite close sets with multiple runs and long rallies, the Ospreys were not able to finish over the Bisons and fell 25-18, 22-25 and 25-27 for the sweep.

Head Coach Steve Loeswick was proud of how the team fought to the end.

“I like the way we competed and didn’t back down. Lipscomb is a great team,” Loeswick said. “We went out there and dug some balls, hard-driven balls and competed at the net and didn’t back down.”

UNF freshman setter Kaileen Herman led the team with 16 assists while teammate junior defensive specialist Ashley LaBorde had a team-high 22 digs.

North Florida continue conference play to face the Kennesaw State Owls for the first time this season at the UNF Arena on Oct. 7 at 7 p.m.
