UNF Track and Field in full stride at NCAA East Preliminaries

After finishing sixth in the 10,000 meter event with a time of 34:06, Eden Meyer has advanced to the National Championship for her second year in a row. She will be competing in Eugene, Oregon from Wednesday, June 6 through Saturday, June 9.

Claudia Jalon earned a new personal and school record in the 1500 meter event with a time of 04:21.04. Jalon just missed advancing by finishing sixth in her heat.

Alyssa Young finished her collegiate career with a 01.70 meters in the high jump, finishing thirty-ninth overall. This was her third time competing in the NCAA East Preliminary.

Tyler Stahl was the lone member of the North’s Florida’s men’s track team to reach the Quarterfinals, qualifying in the 1500 meter event. Stahl finished fifth in his heat and thirteenth overall with a time of 3:47. Stahl could possibly be the first UNF men’s track athlete to reach the D1 National Championships.

Nick Morken finished sixth in his 1500 meter race with a time of 3:53, missing fifth place by a mere 0.20 seconds.

Junior Fynn Timm will run on Friday, May 25, in the 3,000 meter event at Steeplechase at 8 p.m., and Stahl will run in the 1500 meter quarter finals on Saturday, May 26 at 1 p.m.
