The UNF men’s golf team finished third in its fall opener Oct. 9 at the fifth-annual Brickyard Collegiate Championship in Macon, Georgia. The event featured many of the nation’s top teams, including No. 12 Chattanoga, No. 15 Florida State, No. 21 Georgia Tech and No. 22 Georgia.
Juniors Sean Dale and Kevin Phelan and Freshmen Joey Petronio finished in the top 20 individually for the Ospreys.
Dale shot a two under par to finish tied for sixth while Phelan and Petronio both shot two over par en route to finishing 14th. The event was Petronio’s collegiate debut.
The unranked Ospreys finished ahead of a plethora of highly ranked teams.
