Tough season continues for men’s soccer

By Sylvie McCarthy

Offensively, the Ospreys were only able to take four shots on goal. But BU’s goalkeeper was able to block them all.

The Ospreys did not have any offsides penalties in the match, compared to the Bruins five — which could equate to the more aggressive playing style the Bruins showed. Frederico Bertele, a freshman goalkeeper, gave up two goals and recorded a pair of saves.

The team lost to Lipscomb Oct. 16, 5-0. Lipscomb’s Garret Pettis scored four of the Bison’s goals as he took a total of seven shots in the game.

UNF continued the struggles they have had throughout the season on offense. They only managed six shots Oct. 14 and eight shots Oct. 16. Bertele had six saves combined for the two games.

The Ospreys dropped to 1-12-0 overall and 0-5-0 in the Atlantic Sun Conference. With the losses, the team has officially been eliminated from participating in the A-Sun conference playoffs.

Schedule
Oct. 22 at JU at 7 p.m.
