UNF women's volleyball was unable to find their groove in the first two sets against FGCU on Nov. 17, but in the third set the Ospreys got up to a 15-12 lead before the Eagles pulled ahead and won 3-0 overall.
After beating the USC Upstate Spartans with a shutout win on Nov. 12, UNF's men's soccer team will face the Lipscomb Bisons tonight, Nov. 14, which will determine whether they play in the A-Sun Championship Final.
The Ospreys jumped on the women's volleyball game early on Nov. 7 and fought hard to beat the Lipscomb Bisons. The Bisons eventually overturned the Osprey advantage late in the fifth set and rode out the remaining points while keeping their opposition at bay.
The season ended for the UNF women's soccer team on Nov.1 after they lost to Northern Kentucky University, at home, in the Atlantic Sun Conference. Overall, the Ospreys fought against the odds this season by beating the predictions of their final placement in the conference.
On Oct. 25, the 2015 Athletics Hall of Fame induction ceremony initiated several new athletes, one former athletic director and the entire 1990 men’s tennis team , raising the number of total members to 50.
The Lady Ospreys were able to pull together to overtake the Jacksonville University Dolphins in all three sets. UNF finished the set with a 4-0 run in the River City Rumble on Oct. 24.
The UNF men’s golf team has been on the upswing this season. Joey Petronio, UNF senior golfer, not only improves his numbers on the scorecard this season but has been growing mentally, which is a huge part of the sport.
The UNF Rugby Club, the Deadbirds, have had a successful track record since the club's start in 2003, placing fourth in the nation in the 2011 NSCRO Division III National Championship and racking up several undefeated seasons.
