The Florida Board of Governors will vote on UNF President Moez Limayem’s confirmation for the USF presidency on Friday, Dec. 12.
At the USF Board of Trustees meeting on Oct. 21, the trustees approved Limayem to be the next university president, but he could not begin until the BOG confirms him. According to the BOG agenda, they will vote on the confirmation of Limayem as USF’s president-elect this Friday.
Per BOG policy, the University of North Florida Board of Trustees cannot begin the presidential search for the next university president until the state board confirms Limayem.
Spinnaker asked a university spokesperson when Limayem’s departure may be, when a presidential search committee will be formed or what Limayem’s first day at USF may be, but did not receive a response at the time of publication.
Moez Limayem became UNF’s seventh president in 2022. Before working at UNF, Limayem served as the dean of the Muma College of Business at USF for a decade.
On Friday, the BOG will meet at 8:30 a.m. via Zoom, according to the State University System website.
