    Long-time UNF English instructor dies

Amy Wainwright, a Senior Instructor in the Department of English at UNF, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly at her Jacksonville home on June 27, according to the university. Her cause of death is unknown.

Wainwright worked at UNF for 17 years. Grief counselors are available at the UNF Counseling Center for anyone who needs to speak to someone about Wainwright’s death.

A memorial service will take place Monday, July 1, from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at the Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home, 1701 Beach Blvd. in Jacksonville Beach.

Wainwright’s obituary in the Florida Times-Union said she had been a Jacksonville resident for 20 years. She was 51 years old.

A UNF release and the obituary say memorial contributions may be made to Katz 4 Keeps, the Humane Society or any animal rescue organization in honor of Wainwright’s love of cats.
