Inclement weather and Osprey Productions’ (OP) events coincidentally share the same schedule this semester. Rain caused OP to reschedule Euphoria: UNF Art Walk from Feb 25 to April 2 and Oz Music Fest day 2 saw a similar dilemma when Sublime with Rome moved the show from the Hodges Stadium field to a Student Union ballroom March 7. Similarly, OP’s Concert in the Woods’ location has been changed from the island in the middle of Lake Oneida to the Student Union Osprey Plaza tomorrow, April 1 at 6:00 p.m.

“We don’t want to cancel the event, so we wanted to move it under cover,” said OP assistant director Andrew Coconato. “It wouldn’t be an OP event if it didn’t rain.”

According to the National Weather Service, there is a 30 percent chance of rain and thunderstorms for Wednesday before 9:00 p.m.

Newly titled “Concert in the Union,” Coconato said this show is different from last year’s Battle in the Woods. He said there will be no competition and this show will run as a typical concert would.

Solo musician Dustin Bradley, who performed at OP’s first Elevate concert, will open the show with a 30-minute set from 6:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Coconato said the reason OP chose Bradley was because his Elevate performance was well received. The Dalton Stanley Band will perform second from 6:40 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Coconato said he saw the Dalton Stanley Band performing at an Atlantic Sun Championship game tailgate and booked the band soon after. The show will conclude with Charles Adderly and the Chasers, who were originally scheduled to perform at Oz Music Fest day 2. The band will play a 50-minute set from 7:40 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

OP music coordinator Omari Kemp said vanilla and chocolate ice cream will be served at no cost to those attending the show. Students and guests are invited to bring lawn chairs to lounge in as the musicians play original and cover songs at Osprey Plaza.
