Members from UNF’s Red Cross Ospreys gathered on Monday and Tuesday evening to write encouraging words that will be sent to U.S. troops this holiday season.

Raquel MacDermant, senior community health major, explained that the Red Cross Ospreys is affiliated with the Northeast Florida Chapter of the Red Cross. The club aims to engage UNF students in Red Cross events.

“It’s a good way to get experience doing volunteer work,” MacDermant said.

In the past, the club has helped put together care packages for victims affected by house fires. They have also hosted a Red Cross blood drive. They plan on hosting another blood drive later this fall semester or next spring.
