North Florida had successes and defeats on the road and at home over the weekend. For most of the teams it was a weekend that seemed to be out of sorts.

Softball started its season off on the road and came out hot with victories over Illinois and Providence. As the three day tournament continued, the team dropped the remaining games to Butler, Louisville and South Alabama.

Softball stays on the road to face the No. 2 University of Florida Gators Feb.1 4. The Gators finished as the National Champions runner up last season

Women’s tennis dropped both games over the weekend to Florida International University and Florida Atlantic University, 1-6 and 1-4 respectively, at the UNF Tennis Complex.

Lucia Montaño grabbed two singles wins during the weekend.

The team head on the road to play the University of Louisiana-Monroe and Troy, starting Feb. 17.

On the track, senior Eden Meyer posted a personal best time of 16:23 in the 5000m for a program indoor record. Meyer finished in third place in the Vanderbilt Music City Challenge.

With her time, Meyer has the fastest time in the conference and is in the Top 25 of the nation.

Meyer joins the rest of her time for the ASUN Indoor Championship in Lynchburg, VA on Feb. 16.
